I'm gonna be bagging my truck as soon as the parts come in and I'm wondering if I should get a 4 link or just mono leaf it. I have a friend that had a 4 link on his s10 an he took it off because of rear end swaying. He said he never had a problem with the mono leaf. I was wondering I any of you guys can give me some input or past expeirences. Thanks

don't mono it.

Either triangular 4 or parallel with pan hard bar..

I got a par 4 with ph bar n with out shocks it was horrible but with shocks its comfortable. Do it write the first time... Safety should be the top priority, speacially with ur little lady in the car. The previous owner hacked the panhard bar n almost lost control with the wife in the truck when got it. Took a while to get her to trust it again

Yea but how is mono leafing not safe? I would think it would be stronger than welding little tabs on the frame for a 4 link. I'll have to research it more. I'll prob end up goin with a 4 link tho. Just so I can have more travel. Just need to come up with some extra dough. Anyone know where to get a good 4 link from for a decent price?

Well it's not necessarily unsafe, but you do put alot more stress and change it alot more, as if u bent metal back in forth, it will break...

ART and other reputiable companies sell them, I just personally wouldn't do it.

Call Kris, aka Kris Dye Fabrications on this site, he's out of Lorain, and def does good prices... or just post in his section here.

A triangulated 4 link would be the best way to go, but you could also do a parallel 4 link with a watts link (preferably) or a panhard bar. Never bag or juice on a monoleaf. I have seen to many crack and break from the stress. If you have no other option but to stay on the leafs keep your main and overload leafs. But a properly built 4 link will provide the best setup. If you need any parts or have any other questions please feel free to email me brian@illusivefabrications.com

you can get away w/ the monoleaf....but the question just becomes for how long?

Due to being on a budget i went monoleafed for 2 years. No probs, but it was probably a matter of time before one failed and i screwed up my truck so i found a deal on a 4-link w/ panhard bar.

the other problem with a mono leaf that you are going to have is that it is only designed to ride at a certain height. where as a 4link will keep the rear end centered through a complete range of motion a mono leaf will cause the pinion on the front of the rear end to pitch up and down with range of motion.,. its just like a 2 link.. the serve a purpose, but it is not a good one..a leaf spring was designed to be a spring not a link... just my 2 cents,,,

Thanks for the input guys. I ended up doing a reverse triangulated 4 link. Got the universal one from kris dye. I'll have to post some pics up soon. It came out sweet. Just need some drop spindles for the front cause the stock control arms won't let it lay out. So if a pair ever "accidently" fall off a truck at stylin let me no Joe haha

do it right the first time or don't do it at all ;)

link it up.. you'll be unhappy with the travel of a monoleaf setup and its an abnormal amount of stress on the leafs that they can break at some point or cause issues..

4link or 3link(wishbone) or buy a KP Components canti-lever 6link(expensive but worth every penny - www.kplinks.com)
